Are you ready to take on your next Obstacle Course Race, maybe a family fun one or even a Spartan Race Beast? At Ultimate Obstacles we have the equipment to train on, classes to show you how to conquer obstacles, and now a Team to help you along the way with support.
No prior experience needed to be on the team either! We have created this to be a supportive group of all abilities for everyone that comes to the gym. During races there is no pressure either, those that want to run ahead of the Team always have that option and those that want to stick together can do that as well.

Three simple steps to join UO OCR Team
It's that easy! We are confident we have all the tools you need to get stronger for the race physically and mentally. That combined with actual obstacles you see at the race make us the ultimate spot to train at.
So many reason to join us in the fun! We have the perfect facility to train at with so many options from open gym to Spartan SGX classes. At most races one of the UO Coaches will be running right alongside the group giving support along the way. Having a Team means support from others on the team during training and at the race. We will be providing discount codes for the race and will be setting up special training days with different race companies.
Lastly, we've now added in an incentive program to make it more exciting! Just by signing up with the Team you can earn some schwag to show your UO OCR Team pride even more.
So many option to get you ready for that next Obstacle Course Race! Visit as many times as you need during open gym to get ready or really commit and do several a week, whatever works.
Drop in anytime to train on OCR obstacles such as walls, rigs, rope climb, traverse walls, and many other obstacles seen at a race. There is always staff on hand that could help with technique as needed. You could even use the fitness room as long as there is not a class going on. We have wreckbags, kettlebells, battle ropes, jump ropes, and other equipment to get your own workout in. We have Open Gym 7 days a week so any day can be a day of training.
6 Weeks to Sparta
This program consists of a 45 minute workout followed by 45 minutes of obstacle training with a Spartan SGX Coach. These classes are the perfect lead up to any OCR, not just Spartan Races. You’ll learn how to climb a wall, climb a rope, carry heavy things properly, throw a spear, move more efficiently, and many more skills. Trainings run on Thursdays from 7 - 8:30 pm with more time slots opening as the classes fill. See Program Session dates below.
Spartan SGX Classes
These classes are held Monday and Fridays from 6:30 -7:30pm and lead by a Spartan SGX Coach. These are our most structured classes to help get you stronger and more prepared for any OCR. It progresses safely through 3 month cycles starting with foundational work, then athleticism, followed by power development. We also do specific obstacle techniques in our last phase to prepare you. This class is structured so that a beginner can jump in and has the ability to challenge even a veteran to OCR.
We will be working with the race directors to offer a one-day training at Ultimate Obstacles. You’ll get a workout and also open gym on the obstacles to practice. We will be getting different perks at these trainings which may include discount codes and schwag. We will announce more details as we confirm dates.
We are lucky to live in an area that has so many obstacle course races. That being said, we can’t go to them all! Below are the races that we already know put on a quality event and that also work with our schedule at Ultimate Obstacles. Most of these races also offer a kid’s course which is great since we have many parents and kids that are involved in OCR’s. These are the races that will be counted towards the UO OCR Team Incentives.
